The Independent Economy: How Indieverse and IndieVest Work Together
If you’re an independent creative, whether you’re a musician, filmmaker, or multihyphenate artist the financial system is completely broken for you.
If you walk into a traditional bank or talk to standard investors and ask for money to fund your music video, your EP, or a tour, they will look at you sideways. They don’t understand how creative work makes money, they don’t get royalties, and they view creative assets as way too risky.
Because of this, creators are left completely on their own, struggling to fund their projects or figure out how to turn their talent into an actual, stable business.
Our Story & Vision
At Rara Avis, we are fixing this from the ground up. We aren’t a traditional record label; we are an independent career strategy and talent incubator. To truly solve this, we built two deeply connected sister ecosystems: Indieverse (our community and strategy hub) and IndieVest (our creative financial app).
Our Vision for the Future
We are building the economic backbone for the next generation of independent creative powerhouses across Africa and beyond.
For too long, the wealth generated by creative talent has leaked out of the hands of the people actually doing the work, swallowed up by middlemen who hold all the cards. We want to change that narrative permanently.
By combining real cultural intelligence with hard financial tooling, our vision is to make independent creators entirely self-sufficient. We are building a future where an artist doesn’t need to sell away their equity or wait for a gatekeeper’s permission to succeed, because they have the community, the strategy, and the financial engine to fund their own destiny.
Part A: Indieverse (The Community, Strategy, and Culture)
Think of Indieverse as our digital clubhouse, broadcast station, and testing ground.
What it does:
It’s where independent creatives come together to connect, learn, and collaborate.
What goes on there: We host live events, workshops, and networking mixers. We run podcasts and publish research that breaks down the actual business side of the creative industry.
Why it matters:
Instead of just telling artists to “go figure it out,” Indieverse gives them the strategy, the community proof, and the know-how. It’s where artists prove that their work actually has an audience and real commercial value before they try to raise big money.
Part B: IndieVest (The Funding and Financial Tool)
Once an artist has built their community, tested their ideas, and mapped out a project through Indieverse, they need capital to execute it. That’s where IndieVest comes in.
What it does:
IndieVest is a specialized mobile app built for peer-to-peer (P2P) micro-funding, creative savings vaults, and milestone escrow protection.
Why it matters:
It uses secure escrow accounts and automated royalty splits so that everyone’s money is protected, and everyone gets paid fairly when the project brings in revenue. More importantly, it acts as a filter: by showing they can use savings tools and build operational discipline, creators prove to investors that they are bankable.

Why They Cannot Exist Without Each Other
You can’t just hand a financial app to people without teaching them how to use it, and you can’t run a creative community without a way to fund the actual work. That is why Indieverse and IndieVest form a complete loop:
Education meets Execution:
Indieverse uses its podcasts, research, and seminars to teach creators how to manage their careers, protect their intellectual property, and structure their projects correctly.
Community meets Capital:
Once a creator’s project or collaborative circle is validated and structured through Indieverse, IndieVest provides the actual bank vault and funding infrastructure to bring it to life.
When people look at what we are building, they don’t see a random collection of apps and events. They see a complete operating system that takes an artist from having raw talent to actually running a self-sustaining, bankable enterprise.
